Hi teacher friend! 🍎
We are officially heading into Apple Week in our kindergarten classroom, and I think this might be one of my favorite themes for September! 🍏✨
One thing I love about themed weeks is that you don’t have to completely change what you’re teaching... you can take the skills your students already need to practice and make them feel brand new with a fun theme!
Here are a few things we’re doing for Apple Week:
🍎 Apple-Themed Centers — We’ll be practicing letters, beginning sounds, numbers, counting, and more with hands-on apple activities.
🍏 Apple Science — We’ll learn about the parts of an apple, the apple life cycle, and how apples grow.
✏️ Apple Writing — We’ll incorporate apples into our writing and drawing activities throughout the week.
📚 Apple Read-Alouds — I’ll pull out some of my favorite apple books to tie into our literacy lessons and discussions. (Check out some of my favorites on Amazon!)
🔢 Hands-On Math — We’ll continue working on numbers to 10 with activities like rolling a number and building it on a ten frame, building it with cubes, and writing the number.
And, of course, I’ll sprinkle in plenty of apple crafts, games, and little activities to make the week feel extra special! 🍎🍏
If you’re planning an Apple Week in your classroom too, I hope this gives you a few ideas to make planning a little easier!
Happy Apple Week! 🍎✨
